CAN is proud to publish a first-of-its-kind guide for conducting community-informed research on MENA communities. The guide, co-authored by a project team of scholars and key staff at community based organizations, is meant to provide researchers with the background knowledge necessary to successfully conduct relevant and engaging community-informed research.

Supported by generous funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
Responsible scholarship acknowledges the histories, cultural practices, and lived experiences of MENA communities, while also recognizing that many MENA people might be reluctant to participate in research.
Researchers should move as close to true community partnership as possible: shared power, mutual accountability, and co- ownership of the methods and results.
Even though MENA individuals can experience racial discrimination, much of the community remains categorized as White in federal and state data.
